The Kwara State University of Education (KWASUED), Ilorin, has officially opened its doors to prospective candidates seeking academic and administrative careers, following a public advertisement issued by the Office of the Registrar.

The institution invited applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill various teaching and non-teaching staff positions across multiple departments.

Teaching staff positions at KWASUED Ilorin

KWASUED stated that applications were being accepted for the ranks of Senior Lecturer, Lecturer I, Lecturer II, and Assistant Lecturer in a wide range of disciplines.

These include Agricultural Science Education, Computer Science Education, Physics Education, Mathematics Education, English Education, History Education, Economics Education, Sustainable Development, Creative Arts, Electrical Education, Educational Technology, Home Economics, Accounting Education, Entrepreneurship Education, Guidance and Counselling, and Educational Management.

For the position of Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 05), the university required candidates to hold a Ph.D. in the relevant field of education, with a minimum of six years of cognate teaching experience.

Applicants were also expected to present at least fifteen refereed scholarly publications in reputable national and international outlets, along with evidence of research supervision, particularly at the master’s level.

Lecturer I candidates (CONUASS 04) were expected to possess a Ph.D. and have at least four years of teaching experience, supported by a minimum of eight scholarly publications. Lecturer II applicants (CONUASS 03) needed a relevant degree and three years of teaching experience, while Assistant Lecturer candidates (CONUASS 02) were required to hold a master’s degree with a Ph.D. grade and demonstrate potential for an academic career.

In addition, KWASUED announced openings for Librarian I and Librarian II roles. Librarian I candidates (CONUASS 03) were required to have a first and master’s degree in Library and Information Science, six years of cognate experience, and at least four publications. Librarian II applicants (CONUASS 02) needed similar academic qualifications and potential for scholarship.

All teaching staff applicants were expected to possess five O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics, a teaching qualification in a cognate subject, ICT proficiency from a government-recognised institution, and an NYSC discharge certificate or evidence of exemption.

Non-teaching staff positions at KWASUED Ilorin

KWASUED also advertised several non-teaching roles across its Registry, Bursary, Library, and Internal Audit Unit.

In the Registry, the institution sought candidates for Assistant Registrar (CONTISS 09) and Administrative Officer II (CONTISS 07).

The Assistant Registrar role required a first and master’s degree in Humanities or Social/Management Sciences, three years of relevant experience, ICT proficiency, NYSC documentation, and membership of NIM or its equivalent.

Administrative Officer II candidates needed a first degree in the same fields, ICT proficiency, and NYSC documentation.

The Bursary department advertised for Accountant II (CONTISS 07), requiring a B.Sc. in Accounting, ICT proficiency, and NYSC certification.

For the Library, KWASUED invited applications for the Senior Library Officer position (CONTISS 08), which required a first degree in Library and Information Science, three years of relevant experience, ICT proficiency, and NYSC documentation.

In the Internal Audit Unit, the university sought a Senior Internal Auditor (CONTISS 09). Candidates were expected to hold both B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Accounting, have three years of relevant experience, ICT proficiency, NYSC documentation, and membership of ICAN, ANAN, or equivalent professional bodies.
