The move is set to shake up Nigeria's oil downstream sectors, cutting off middlemen who supply to filling stations.

Marketers across Nigeria have intensified engagement efforts with the refinery’s management to secure reliable and cost-effective fuel supplies
Industry players confirmed that both major and independent marketers have opened formal talks with Dangote Petroleum Refinery Ltd. ahead of the rollout.
Dangote direct fuel supply
To achieve its objectives, Dangote refinery has invested in the procurement of 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers.
In a statement, the refinery said:
"Effective 15th of August 2025, the Refinery will begin the distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel to marketers, petrol dealers, manufacturers, telecoms firms, aviation, and other large users across the country, with free logistics to boost distribution network.
"In addition, the refinery will offer a credit facility to those purchasing a minimum of 500,000 litres allowing them to obtain an additional 500,000 litres on credit for two weeks, under bank guarantee."
The refinery has also invested in CNG stations, commonly referred to as daughter booster stations, supported by a fleet of over 100 CNG tankers across the country to ensure seamless product distribution.

More marketers become Dangote partners
Data from Dangote refinery showed the plant’s existing distribution network includes MRS, Heyden, Ardova (AP), Hyde, Optima, and Techno Oil, BusinessDay reports.
Others are TotalEnergies, Garima Petroleum, Sunbeth Energies, Sobaz Nigeria Ltd., Virgin Forest Energy, Sixxco Oil Ltd., N.U. Synergy Ltd., and Soroman Nigeria Ltd.
Jezco Oil Nigeria Ltd., Jengre, Cocean, Kifayat, Triumph Golden, Sifem Global, Riquest, and Mamu Oil, among others have joined the list.
Abubakar Shettima, president of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), speaking on the Dangote refinery plans confirmed that the association’s members have already registered with the refinery to take advantage of the direct supply plan.
IPMAN has over 30,000 members and more than 150,000 service stations nationwide.
Dangote petrol price drops
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the Dangote petroluem Refinery had adjusted its ex-depot petrol price from N850 to N820 per litre.
The new price has triggered changes in private depot prices across the country, with rates now ranging from N840 to N860 per litre, down from the previous range of N890 to N970.
Some filling stations partnered with the Dangote Refinery have also reduced their retail prices, and further cuts are expected from others.
