Here's how to toast a Nigerian guy in 6 easy steps (video)

We are in the era of women empowerment, where the slogan: what a man can do, a woman can do even better - rings true. We also have a lot of single women, most of whom are sitting down and waiting for a guy to come and toast them. Girl, get with the program!

These days anybody can walk up to anybody and say: "I like you. Will you be mine?" And then the magic happens. If you are a chick and you are still wondering, how can I do this? Will it work? Well, never you worry. Here is a list of six easy steps to getting your crush to be your man - with a video to boot!

1. Pick the guy

Do you have a whole lot of options? Don't be greedy. Settle on one. Just pick a guy. Maybe, you've been eyeing him at church or he works in your office. And you've been worrying what people would think if you made the first move. It's time to let go of that. Just go for it. But first ensure the feeling is mutual. Has he been eyeing you too? Or flirted with you once in a while and you've just been waiting for him to make the first move? Forget all that! It's your world. Go for it.

2. Find out more about him

But don't just rush into it. First do what the army calls, reconnaissance. Know you territory. Or like we say in simple courting language in Nigeria, do your investigation. Thank God for Google... and Facebook and Twitter and friends who like download info from now till thy kingdom come. Learn about him and use the information to your advantage.

3. Get rid of the competition

This sounds brutal but when you are  focused and know what you want, everything is fair game - well, until it is not. Still, make sure he is single and seriously searching (for you, wink-wink).

4. Get closer to him

If he works in your office, move your seat closer to him. You can move houses if it will get you what you want. Hang out with him as often as possible

5. Like what he likes

He likes brandy? You like it too. He likes football? In fact, your father owns Real Madrid. He hates his former pastor and just changed churches? You hate the crotchety old man too and love the knew "wazzup" church.

6. Tell him how you feel

By now, you guys have gotten close enough to remove any ambiguity about how you feel (and how he feels too). Is he still not making the move? Never mind. The power is in your hand. Tell him. Yes, walk up to him and say: "I like you. Talk your own."
