Kidnappers of Baraje's son get long jail terms.

Ajadi Oba Abdul Rasheed was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment and a fine equal to N100,000.

The second man, Ayeni Abayomi, bagged 10 years in prison and a fine of N100,000. The sentences are to run concurrently commencing from the day the judgment was delivered.

The infamous duo was behind kidnap and extortion of Abiodun Abdulkadir Baraje, son of the former Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alh Abubakar Kawu Baraje. Two of their suspected accomplices, Rasaq and Yakubu Abdul Rasaq, were still free.

It would be recalled that Baraje’s son was kidnapped by the gang at Success and Regards Filling Station along Asa Dam Road, Ilorin, on February 4, 2010. The kidnappers extorted USD100,000 from Bilikis Baraje, the wife of Biodun Baraje.
