2015: Gulak says Jonathan is the only alternative

The special adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on political affairs and coordinator of Goodluck Support Group, Mr Ahmad Gulak has said that there is no alternative to the president.

Speaking at an award ceremony for eminent women by the Global Connections for Women Foundation to mark this year’s International Women’s Day at Harvard Club, New York, United States, Gulak said Nigeria is progressing under the administration of Jonathan.

"We have searched from the West, East, North and the south, for today, as I speak with you, we have not found an alternative to Goodluck Jonathan.

"What you get to hear in the press is the work of the opposition who are desperate to hold power and definitely they are not going to be an alternative to this present administration.

"We have seen what some of them had done in the past and we are still seeing what they are doing. Nigeria under President Goodluck Jonathan is progressing. We are developing," he said.

He therefore urged the international community to ignore the noisy propaganda sponsored in the press by the opposition and also called for greater support from global super powers in the fight against terrorism.

Also speaking at the event, honourable chair, GC4W, Chief Temitope Ajayi said that Jonathan had impacted positively on Nigeria’s development, adding that his administration had given women a lot of opportunities to contribute to national development and to excel.

She called on Nigerians to support Jonathan in his efforts to transform the country.
