PDP Splinter Group Protests In Rivers, Demands Felix Obuah Resignation

Numerous members of the Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party on Tuesday called for the resignation of the State Chairman of the party, Mr. Felix Obuah.

More than 250 angry members, mainly youths, reportedly stormed the State PDP Secretariat, located on Aba Road in Port Harcourt at about 8am, chanting war songs.

It has been learnt that the protesters, who arrived at the secretariat in about 40 buses, claimed that Obuah had not been carrying them along in the scheme of things.

They accused Obuah of financing the Grassroots Development Initiative to the detriment of the state PDP.

Moreover, the protesters were criticizing the Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom Wike, over his self-seeking attitude.

The placard displayed by the protesters read, ‘Felix Obuah, Resign Now’, ‘GDI is Wike’s platform for his Governorship Ambition’ and ‘Obuah, You have failed PDP in Rivers State’.

According to one of the young protesters, identified as Peterside, the only solution was for the state chairman to leave his current position and allow the party to move forward.
