Kwankwaso Contemplates 2015 Race

Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State has revealed that he is still soliciting the opinions of friends and political associates on whether to join the race for the country’s number one seat in the 2015 presidential election or not.

According to AIT, the governor made the revelation during a meeting with his political appointees at the Government House, Kano.

Kwankwaso urged them to advise him rightly, hinting that through his consultation on whether to join the 2015 presidential race or not, he had discovered so many admirers as well as several true enemies. He said some people who have not met him in person have already started sending him copies of the posters made for him, calling on him to join the race.

“Although some of these posters were sent to me since the last two years with a logo of PDP, therefore, I directed my aides to destroy PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) posters and keep the APC’s (All Progressives Congress) until I make the decision” he said.

Kwankwaso, who claimed he had become very popular, said a lot people want to see him wherever he visits across the country because of the projects his government had executed in the state as well as the transparent nature of his government which they want replicated at a higher level.

He stated that people from within and outside the country have been calling on him to contest the 2015 election, assuring him of their full support.

According to him, the country needs a credible leader that would not only transform the nation, but bring about changes that would improve the lives of the people, as seen in all sectors of Kano state.

Kwankwaso, who said the next governor would find the state easy to govern, expressed optimism that APC would win the gubernatorial election and all elections with a wide margin in 2015.

Meanwhile, on August 27, 2014, the Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso reportedly declared his intention to run for the post of president on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).  Also there have been speculations that former head of state rtd  General Mohammadu Buhari, may likely emerge the All Progressive Congress flag bearer while President Goodluck Jonathan is expected to seek re-election under the big umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party.

It would be recalled that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had earlier announced that it would start its primary elections in October 2014, to enable them nominate a presidential candidate for the 2015 general election.
