FRSC Denies Ilegal Recruitment

The Federal Road Safety Corps yesterday issued a statement saying it did not conduct any illegal recruitment exercise. Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, Professor Shuaibu Oba that FRSC recruitment exercise of 6,000 officers in 2012 was faulty and illegal.

The Corps Public Education Officer, Jonas Agwu said in a statement “the FRSC had an approved establishment of 18,834 while its staff strength stood at 13,092. In view of this, an approval was sought and received from the Head of Civil Service of the Federation to recruit in 2010 which was carried out in 2010/2011.

“FRSC has no record of such recruitment and our internal control mechanism does not allow such. For the avoidance of doubt, we wish reiterate that the Corps did not recruit any staff in 2012 neither is the Corps involved in any form of recruitment scam.
