Popular Nigerian singer Rema is very proud of the state he hails from, Edo, and he tries as much as possible to portray it in his songs.

In a tweet he shared recently, the Bounce crooner explained that in Benin city, which is the state's capital, bats fly every evening and that is why he adopted the animal as his signature.

Rema revealed that the bats are a constant reminder of where he is from.

In this part of the world, bats are however associated with dark forces, as many believe that they are messengers of witches and wizards and it is no wonder a lot of people are scared of Edo indigenes.

The singer wrote:

“In Benin city, when you look up the sky in the evening all you see is bats flying and that’s why its my signature emoji, a constant reminder of where I’m from.”

Rema calls out photographers

Rema celebrated his 21st birthday and his official Twitter page was filled with many thoughts.

Among the series of tweets the singer made was a stern warning to photographers. He told them to stop editing his photos in the bid to mislead people into thinking he is perfect.

He told his millions of followers on the bird app that he does not flow with the rules of the game, adding that he does not want people getting unnecessarily pressured.
