Real Madrid are reportedly planning to include Vinicius Jr in a swap deal to land Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.
The Frenchman's future at the Parc Des Princes remains uncertain following the forward's refusal to pen a new deal just yet.
As it stands, the World Cup winner's current deal with the Ligue 1 defending champions expires in June 2022 which means that teams can start talking to him from next January.
However, sources are now predicting that the attacker could leave for the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of this campaign following the progress they have made as reported by SunSport quoting The Telegraph.
The publication further revealed that the chances of Mbappe staying back at PSG are rather very slim and the Paris-based club will be hoping to cash in on his sale with over £87 million price tag placed on him.
Meanwhile, due to the effect of COVID-19, PSG may be willing to accept a fee structured over a number of years but will do everything in their power to keep the aggressive goal poacher.
Real Madrid could speed up their payment process if they offer a player as part of the exchange strategy. And to El Chiringuito claims PSG sporting director Leonardo could be interested in his compatriot Vinicius Jr.
The 20-year-old Brazilian was exceptional during Real's Champions League quarterfinal first leg triumph over Liverpool earlier this week, but he would be expendable if Mbappe decides to join Los Blancos.
Ideally, PSG want to tie Mbappe, 22, down to a five-year extension. Alternatively, however, the two parties could agree upon a one or two-year extension - with a slight pay rise - in order to at least improve PSG's bargaining position.
Apart from Real, Liverpool and a few other clubs are eying a move for the France international at the end of this season.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Real Madrid have taken a huge step towards booking a place in the semifinals of the Champions League after seeing off Liverpool in the first leg of their last eight fixture played on the evening of Tuesday, April 6, at Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium.
Vinicius Jr was arguably the man of the moment during the thrilling clash, with the Real youngster stepping up to fill the void left by a number of key players who missed the clash.
The Reds were looking to avenge their 3-1 heartbreaking defeat in the hands of the Spanish giants during their 2018 meeting in the finals of the competition played in Kyiv, Ukraine.
