If this is the outcome, the log leaders would have increased their chances of becoming champions when the season wraps up in May.

However, Manchester United will have a chance to keep them (Man City) in check if they can beat the struggling West Bromwich Albion on Valentine's Day.

Owen spent three years at Old Trafford scoring five times in 31 appearances under legendary Sir Alex Ferguson - winning a Premier League in the process.

The 41-year-old also believes defending champions Liverpool will bounce back to winning ways when they battle Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Jurgen Klopp's men have only won just two of their last six matches - three of his side's defeats came at Anfield and they are 10 points behind City.

But Owen feels they can grind out a result against Brendan Rodgers men in a match that could swing either way. Owen told Bet Victor and The Mirror reported him saying:

"On paper, this has the potential to be a cracker with both so good going forward. That said, I think it may be more suited to the visitors from a tactical point of view.

"Leicester will no doubt be willing to invite Liverpool on so they can utilise their counter-attack, however, it’s an extremely hard task to do that for 90 minutes against the Reds.
"If Liverpool can get in front, it should open Leicester up and if that materialises, I think the points will be going back to Merseyside."

Owen said about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his men are fully expected to get the job done at the Hawthorns. He said:

"I think it was a shrewd move from United to get Edinson Cavani in over the summer. His experience has been vital in recent away victories and I don’t think any defender will look forward to facing him.

"With that in mind, there’s only one winner for me. I’m going with Manchester United to take the points home to Old Trafford."

Arsenal are tipped to get the better of Leeds United at Emirates Stadium two days from now while Chelsea could pick maximum points ahead of Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Monday, February 15.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been named the Premier League manager of the month for January.

The Spanish born tactician has now won the prestigious eighth time after guiding the Citizens to victories in all nine games they played.

And this is the first time any club would achieve such a feat in the history of English football in a calendar month.
