- A Nigerian man, resident in Dublin, has taken an unusual vow against his motherland
- The man has taken to Twitter to reveal that whatever it will take or cost, nothing will make him return to Nigeria
- His assertion has generated mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media
There is actually no harm in travelling to foreign countries or residing overseas. In fact, Article 13, no. 2, of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights stipulates that everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country.
A Nigerian man has taken an unpopular decision against his country. The man, whose name is still unknown, took to Twitter to reveal that under no circumstance will he return to Nigeria.
The Dublin-based man identified on Twitter as @nnayidavid said:
"If I perish I perish but will never go back to Nigeria."
He made the statement just as he shared two photos of himself.
@i_feoma congratulated him and welcomed his decision. Taking to the comment section, she said:
"I am coming to join you soon! This country is not healthy for human stay at all... when one cough, they freeze account/ threatening your life, no job at all, the poor ones getting poorer and intimidated..
"If you can find away to leave nija,abeg do oooo."
@Oscar29784957 chided him saying:
"Lol. You are just new there. When u don make am big time and u don dey there for many years, naija go hungry you to come. Go mark my words. Never say never."
@NKWorld3 also commended his decision. He wrote:
"My brother abeg no Come back o because even we wey dey here wan run commot too."
@omobadun disagreed with him saying:
"When you make am, you go come back. Unless you never drink Naija water.''
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Sunday Oliseh, Nigerian football legend, vowed never to return as Nigeria's Super Eagles coach.
The 45-year-old only lasted about eight months in charge of the country's national team before falling apart with his employers.
His team scored 19 goals and conceded just six while losing two games in the process. He also qualified the country for CHAN Championship the same year but crashed out at the group stage.
