Congratulations are in order for Nigerian-American Yvonne Orji as her autobiographical comedy is set to be developed into a series by renowned actor and producer David Oyelowo and Oprah Winfrey.
The comedian took to her official Instagram page to make the big announcement to her 966k fans and followers.
VARIETY revealed that the comedy series of the Hollywood actress is titled First Gen. The series is said to be based on Yvonne's personal experiences growing up as a Nigerian immigrant in America.
It was noted that the actress was caught between trying to honour her parents and culture and at the same time trying to take in American life.
In the caption that accompanied the post that Yvonne made online, the actress expressed gratitude to God for open doors.
According to her, a trailer she shot in 2015 for a family sitcom was what gave her the chance to get an audition for Insecure comedy drama-series.
Yvonne noted that five years after being told no, her new project finally has a home with the Disney family. She went on to express her gratitude to Oyelowo and Winfrey for believing in her dreams.
