Wizkid wins Best African Act at 2020 MOBO Awards

- Wizkid has emerged winner for the Best African Act at the recently concluded Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards

- Burna Boy also snagged an award for the Best International Act at the award show

- Recall in 2017, the Ginger crooner became the first African Artist to have won the BET Award and MOBO Award for Best African Act

Congratulations are in order for two of Nigeria's biggest music exports - Wizkid and Burna Boy - as they shone brightly at the recently concluded Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards.

Wizkid snagged the award, yet again, for the Best African Act at the award show. The MOBO Awards happened on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, virtually on YouTube.

Wizkid was the winner of the category which had a competitive lineup of stars like Davido, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, etc.

This comes three years after he became the first African artist to have won the BET Award and MOBO Award for Best African Act.

Also stealing the show at the MOBOs was Burna Boy who made Nigeria proud as he emerged winner in his own category.

Burna Boy won the “Best International Act” having captivated the local and global audience with his signature sound and undeniable charisma.

He was nominated in the category alongside Rema, Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, the late Pop Smoke, Lil Baby and more.

Meanwhile, Wizkid isn't just known for putting out good music, apparently, he is also a man of his words as seen in the life of a young boy, who things took a turn for the better in 2018.

Two years after Wizkid reached out and offered to help the young vulcanizer named Basit his life has changed completely.

New photos trending online shows a much happier and healthy Basit in his school uniform, and another one which shows him in the school magazine.
