Former boxing heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, is set to come out of retirement for an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr on Saturday, November 28.

There are slight changes in the regular boxing rules for the fight between 53-year-old Tyson and Jones Jr. who is already 51 - as both legends continue to trade words.

It was gathered that the fight has been strictly confirmed as an exhibition bout and won’t go on either of the boxers’ professional record.

There were earlier concerns as regards if they are allowed to knockout one another or if they should compete without headguards.

However, according to Andy Foster who is an executive director of the California State Athletic Commission, the rules have been clarified.

Foster explained:

"Let's call it an exhibition. That's what it is.
"I want the public to know what this is because I don't want people to be disappointed. As long as they know this is an exhibition, I'm fine for everybody to earn.
"There are no official judges. The WBC is going to have some guest celebrity judges remotely, not official, not 10-9 [scores], nothing like that. No cumulative score."

Rules for the fight according to SPORTbible

• The bout will take place over eight rounds timed at two minutes each.

• Neither boxer will is required to wear headgear.

• Tyson and Jones will be wearing 12-ounce gloves.

• If either boxer suffers a bad cut, the exhibition is over.

• Both fighters had to undergo complete medical testing in order to be cleared for the bout and both athletes entered VADA (Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency) testing prior to the contest.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that legendary Mike Tyson has named Floyd Mayweather as the boxer he wished he had fought during his active days.

The 54-year-old who is planning to come out of retirement and faceoff with Roy Jones Jr in an eight-round exhibition told Steve Farhood on ShoBox during an interview session.

Both have hung their gloves after paying their dues in the sport but were regarded as two of the best fighters to have graced the rings.
