Earlier, Legit.ng reported that El-Rufai called for the restructuring of Nigeria in a way that would enable equitable distribution of resources.

The governor made the call during his speech at a public lecture to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Arewa House in Kaduna state on Saturday, October 31.

He said it was time to restructure the country in a manner that will empower states with constitutional control over certain resources.

The governor explained that restructuring should allow states to have more powers over the police, oil and gas resources, minerals, among others.
