Chelsea desperate in signing Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen and are now ready to sell six stars to raise funds for the transfer of the German star.

Havertz has emerged on the Blues’ radar for some time now after he had a brilliant campaign in the Bundesliga.

The Stamford Bridge club have made a very remarkable start into the summer transfer window with the signing of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.

An initial €40million (£36m) deal was agreed with Ajax for Ziyech in February while Werner's arrival from RB Leipzig was confirmed after triggering his release clause last month.

It was gathered that Marcos Alonso, Michy Batshuayi, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Kenedy and Danny Drinkwater are among the players who are likely to be shipped out.

Emerson Palmieri is the sixth man on the list and Inter Milan have opened talks with Chelsea about signing the Italy international.

Also, West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice has reportedly emerged as top transfer target for Premier League giants Chelsea this summer.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester United have handed Nemanja Matic a new long term contract until the summer of 2023.

The Serbian midfielder has been impressive for the Red Devils since the return of football in June and the club decided to honour him with an extension.

His current deal was scheduled to run out in 2021 but his superb performances in their last three matches have made him a little more valuable to Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's plans.
