A video has emerged in which a family saved a bear cub's life by pulling a food container off its head as it desperately swam in a lake in Wisconsin, United States.
Tricia Hurt, her husband Brian and son Brady were boating on Marsh-Miller Lake in Wisconsin, when they saw that the animal needed help, Mirror reports.
Risking his own life to save the baby bear, Brian yanked the tub off its head as the confused animal made an attempt to claw at his hands.
Tricia said: "We couldn't believe it when we saw the cheese puffs container wedged on the poor bear's head.
"You can't tell how a wild animal will react, even if you are trying to save its life, but we had to get over that fear and help him out.
"He would only have been about a year old so there's no telling what would have happened to him if the plastic wasn't removed."
Tricia said it took five minutes to rescue the animal, adding that the container was too slippery when Brian made his first attempt.
