Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has raised tension at the Emirates with his gestures when he was asked about his plan as regards signing a new contract at Arsenal, SunSport reports.

The Gabonese laughed off the idea on Instagram during a live chat with Kevin-Prince Boateng on Sunday, March 29.

With the 30-year-old having just one more year on his existing contract with the Gunners, there are uncertainties over his future with the club.

The football world is currently on lockdown due to the rampaging coronavirus and the player is also in self-isolation.

In a bid to while away time, Aubameyang activated a live video chat with Boateng and also took his time to interact with his followers on the Social media platform by allowing them ask series of questions.

The fans probed with questions regarding his future at Arsenal and Boateng urged him to respond.

"They're (fans) all saying you should sign a new deal with Arsenal," Boateng said.

"Ah yeah, I know," he Aubameyang replied. Boateng probed further by asking the player how long does he have left on his contract.

"One year," the Arsenal captain reluctantly replied.

Boateng continued by asking if he would commit his future to the Emirates by signing a new contract.

"Sure, sure…,” he laughed.

Then Boateng said: “He’s going to come to Besiktas,” and both players laughed about a potential swap deal.

Aubameyang is Arsenal’s leading scorer this season having netted 17 times in 26 Premier League matches.

Meanwhile, Arsenal football club have reportedly lined up Real Madrid flop Luka Jovic as a replacement for want-away star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang when the summer transfer window opens.

The north Londoners are not confident the Gabonese striker whose contract with the club expires in 2021 will sign a new deal.

Aubameyang has been recently linked with a move to Barcelona as the Catalans want him to take over from aging Luis Suarez. However, the Gunners will make a move for the forward should Los Blancos decide to sell him off barely one season at the Bernabeu.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea have reportedly joined Spanish giants Barcelona and Manchester United in the race to sign Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who could leave the Emirates this summer.

Manchester United were the first to show interest in the signing of the Gabonese footballer whose contract at the club will expire in 2021.

But according to the report on UK Sun, Arsenal chiefs are aware that the former Borussia Dortmund striker is not ready to sign a new deal at the Emirates stadium.
