Earlier, Legit.ng previously reported that the Kaduna state government on Tuesday, March 10, honoured the former monarch with a new appointment.

Sanusi was appointed into the board of the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency (KADIPA).

Concerning the new development, a statement from the Kaduna state government house partly read: “Malam Nasir El-Rufai has appointed His Highness, Muhammad Sanusi II into the board of KADIPA."

Social media reactions to the appointments offered by the former emir have been varied. While some commended Governor El-Rufai for the appointments, others claimed it was an attempt to score political points.

Shamsudeen Muhammad Giwa said: "May Allah reward you with the best of His reward for doing Mallam.

"May Allah help him in transforming the University to the world best ranked university .

Congratulations to KASU."

Another Twitter user, @BalogunGambari, said: "I have heard so many negative things about this man @elrufai but this bold step says a lot about him. May Allah continue to bless and strengthen your leadership sir."

Dipo Awojide said: "Nasir El-Rufai hasn't really said anything about Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, but again, he has 'said a lot' with his actions/appointments in the last 48 hours. Game on."

In another report, the presidency has finally reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari's alleged involvement in the removal of the former emir of Kano.

Sanusi's removal has been pulling massive storms since the emir was deposed of his title by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje-led Kano government, with a score of his supporters alleging that Buhari was involved in the ploy.

But in a statement by his aide on media and publicity Garba Shehu on Wednesday, March 11, President Buhari said contrary to the trending rumours linking him with Sanusi's removal, he "has no involvement whatsoever in the dethronement."

In a related development, the former head of state General Abdulsalami Abubakar said all attempts to pacify all grudging parties before the eventual dethronement proved futile.

General Abdulsalami, who headed the reconciliation committee of Sanusi and Governor Ganduje feud, made this known while reacting to the repulsive removal of the immediate Kano monarch which has seen the north region polarised.
