Osinbajo's friend celebrates him on his birthday, praises his level of integrity
- A good friend of Nigeria’s vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, has celebrated him on the occasion of his 63rd birthday
- The individual, Richard Akinnola II, shared a post on Facebook in which he recounted how the VP refused to fuel his personal gains while in office
- Akinnola praised the level of integrity possessed by Osinbajo and wished him a happy celebration
Nigeria’s vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, was recently celebrated by a close friend on social media, on the occasion of his 63rd birthday ceremony.
The VP’s friend identified as Richard Akinnola penned a short narration in honor of the celebrant in which he recounted a personal experience that made him see the politician for the kind of person he is.
Akinnola said the incident happened when Osinbajo was the attorney-general and commissioner for justice in Lagos state.
According to him, a main contractor that was working with the Lagos judiciary at the time had contacted Osinbajo with the intention of showing appreciation for a lucrative contract that they got.
"The officials of the contractor gave him an offer as they normally do to Nigerian government officials as show of "appreciation" after a lucrative contract. They asked him to give them a location where they could put up a structure for him as personal house, to show appreciation," Akinnola wrote.

However, instead of fueling his personal gains as the contractors had suggested, Akinnola said Osinbajo summoned his solicitor-general, Fola Arthur-Worrey, and directed the contractors to follow him to the site of a new court library which had not come to life due to paucity of funds.
Akinnola said: "He asked the contractors to follow Arthur-Worrey to show them the site. The officials of the contractor were shocked. They apparently were encountering such a government official with such integrity. I'm sure Yemi would have forgotten this episode but l won't forget."
He concluded the post by praising the level of Osinbajo’s integrity and wishing him a happy birthday. See a screenshot below:

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari praised Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) for positively impacting some policies of the current administration.
Buhari pointed out that Osinbajo made important contributions to the economic and social intervention programmes of the administration. He commended the vice president for his loyalty and dedication to the current administration.
