Efe Ajagba knocks out Razvan Cojanu in 9th round to remain unbeaten

- Efe Ajagba was too strong for Razvan Cojanu as he knocked out his opponent in the 9th round to remain unbeaten

- Romanian boxer Cojanu has now lost five of his last six fights

Nigerian heavyweight boxer Efe Ajagba picked up his 13th professional victory after beating Romanian heavyweight boxer Razvan Cojanu on Saturday, March 7, at the Barclays Center, New York, US.

Despite fighting outside Houston where he is trained by Ronnie Shields, 25-year-old Ajagba made it 13-0, 11 KOs as he took his time to break down Cojanu, whose face was badly battered by the end of the fight.

Ajagba knocked down Cojanu on two occasions in the eight round before stopping the 32-year-old Romanian boxer in the ninth round of the fight which was headlined by the Adam Kownacki-Robert Helenius heavyweight title bout.

The Nigerian Olympian battered his opponent from the first to the ninth round, and when Cojanu went down on his knee, the referee waved it off at 2 minutes, 46 seconds.

Cojanu has now lost five of his last six fights, all to quality opponents including former two-time world title challenger Luis Ortiz and former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Nigerian boxer Efe Ajagba on Saturday night, December 21, faced a tough battle from veteran lago Kiladze, but he eventually knocked his opponent down in the fifth round.

lago Kiladze was knocked down twice in this fight by Efe Ajagba which was in the second and fifth round respectively.

Efe Ajagba eventually recorded an emphatic victory over lago Kiladze.

Ajagba is an indigene of Ughelli in Delta state and the professional boxer holds the world’s record for the fastest victory as his opponent, Curtis Harper, was disqualified after he left the ring just a second after the opening bell was jingled.

It should be noted that Ajagba was a former football player in Ughelli before he left the sport for boxing. A former bakery worker, he was able to make the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow where he won a bronze medal.
