German League side Borussia Dortmund have one leg into the quarterfinals of this season's Champions League championship after their victory over Paris Saint Germain.

The Bundesliga side takes a one-goal advantage into the second leg after beating the Ligue 1 side 2-1 in the first leg of their last eight stage clash at the Signal Iduna Park.

January transfer signing Erling Haaland was the hero of the match after striking twice to hand the home team the victory in front of their fans.

Haaland, who newly joined Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg earlier this year is justifying why the club needed him after benefiting from Raphael Guerreiro's assist towards the end of the game.

Haaland completed his brace eight minutes after grabbing the opener with an unstoppable shot in the 77th minute.

But this time, second-half substitute Giovanni Reyna takes credit for the assist as the 19-year-old picked the bottom right corner of the post before releasing the thunder.

With this victory in the first leg of their quarterfinal clash, Dortmund would be hoping they can replicate the performance and dump PSG out of the equation soon enough.

Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel will be desperate to turn things around having been ousted at this stage in the last two editions of the competition.
