- Borussia Dortmund vs Paris Saint-Germain UCL clash ended in favour of the home team
- Two second-half goals were all the hosts needed to outshine their visitors after regulation period
- Meanwhile, Neymar's lone strike was not enough to earn them a draw ahead of the second leg
German League side Borussia Dortmund have one leg into the quarterfinals of this season's Champions League championship after their victory over Paris Saint Germain.
The Bundesliga side takes a one-goal advantage into the second leg after beating the Ligue 1 side 2-1 in the first leg of their last eight stage clash at the Signal Iduna Park.
January transfer signing Erling Haaland was the hero of the match after striking twice to hand the home team the victory in front of their fans.
The 19-year-old star handed the home team the lead for the first time in the game in the 69th minute after chipping the ball above Keylor Navas' reach.
Haaland, who newly joined Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg earlier this year is justifying why the club needed him after benefiting from Raphael Guerreiro's assist towards the end of the game.
Brazilian superstar Neymar leveled parity for the visitors after putting the ball into the net from close range with Kylian Mbappe providing the help for the goal.

Haaland completed his brace eight minutes after grabbing the opener with an unstoppable shot in the 77th minute.
But this time, second-half substitute Giovanni Reyna takes credit for the assist as the 19-year-old picked the bottom right corner of the post before releasing the thunder.
With this victory in the first leg of their quarterfinal clash, Dortmund would be hoping they can replicate the performance and dump PSG out of the equation soon enough.
Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel will be desperate to turn things around having been ousted at this stage in the last two editions of the competition.
The two sides started the game on a promising note but ended up failing to produce a goal in the first 45 minutes.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Liverpool suffered a 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 clash.
Saul Niguez scored the only goal of the fixture in the fourth minute of the encounter to give the La Liga side an advantage heading into the second leg.
The defending champions will now be hoping they can turn this result to their favour at Anfield next month in a bid to successfully reclaim the title they won last season.
