Barcelona narrowly beat visitors Levante 2-1 in Sunday's Spanish league encounter at the Camp Nou.
The victory helped the Catalans reduced Real Madrid's gap on the table to three points after 22 round of fixtures.
Ansu Fati scored the two goals that powered the Blaugrana to victory while Ruben Rochina's strike ended up a mere consolation as it failed to rescue them from defeat.
Teenage sensation Ansu Fati fired the hosts in front with a superb finish on the half-hour mark after connecting with Lionel Messi's precise pass.
The 17-year-old outran Levante's left-back before picking up that pass from his captain and sent it straight into the back of the net through Aitor Fernandez's legs.
Barely two minutes later, the same combination that produced the first goal manufactured the second goal.
Messi held off about three opposition players in the box 18 to create space for his teammates and later found Fati on the left side of the danger zone.
The 32-year-old released the ball once again to the teenager who pushed the ball forward before launching another unstoppable shot to complete his brace in the clash.
Despite doing two goals down just before 35 minutes, the visitors continued to attack the home team with the aim of at least reducing the deficit before half time.
However, it was Barca who almost made it three goals up with Nelson Semedo unleashing a thunderous shot but his effort was denied by the woodworks.
