Efe Ajagba: Meet Nigerian boxer who holds the world’s record for fastest victory

Efe Agba, a 24-year-old boxer, is one of the athletes that are making Nigeria proud on the international scene.
An indigene of Ughelli in Delta state, the professional boxer holds the world’s record for the fastest victory as his opponent, Curtis Harper, was disqualified after he left the ring just a second after the opening bell was jingled.
His next fight will be against Ukranian professional boxer, Lago Kiladze, come Saturday, December 21, in Toyota Arena, California, USA.
It should be noted that Ajagba was a former football player in Ughelli before he left the sport for boxing. A former bakery worker, he was able to make the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
At the competition, he won a bronze medal after he lost to his Australian opponent, Joseph Goodall in the semifinals.
He aced the 2016 African Boxing Olympic Qualification Tournament in Younde, Cameroon, as he won a gold medal.
A very interesting thing about Ajagba is that he has won his whole 11 profession boxing competitions by 9 knockouts, 1 decision, and 1 disqualification.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that British fighter Anthony Joshua has reclaimed his heavyweight titles six months after initially losing them to Andy Ruiz.
The 30-year-old boxer won through unanimous decision having amassed more points than his opponent in the bout.
Joshua won back the WBO, IBF and WBA heavyweight titles on Saturday night with a 12-round action-packed after defeating Ruiz Jr. in Saudi Arabia.
In another related news, the All Progressives Congress (APC) congratulated Joshua on his win on Saturday, December 7, in Saudi Arabia.
In a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu, the party recalled how the boxing champion suffered setback many months ago when he lost to Andy.
It, however, appreciated how Joshua did not let the setback make the best out of him as he rose back to reclaim the titles he had lost.
