APC congratulates Anthony Joshua on his win against Andy Ruiz

- The All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Anthony Joshua for defeating his opponent, Andy Ruiz, to reclaim his titles

- According to the APC, the way the Nigerian-boxer came back from his defeat months ago with a powerful outing is inspiring

- The party said his resilience and determination is a good example of how Nigerians always deal with setback

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Anthony Joshua, who defeated Andy Ruiz to reclaim his heavyweight titles, in a rematch on Saturday, December 7, in Saudi Arabia.

In a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu, the party recalled how the boxing champion suffered setback many months ago when he lost to Andy.

It, however, appreciated how Joshua did not let the setback make the best out of him as he rose back too reclaim the titles he had lost.

APC said with the comeback, the Nigerian-born British boxer has joined legends like Muhammed Ali, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, and Floyd Patterson.

The party also spoke the boxer’s determination and resilience, saying it typifies the “can-do” spirit of Nigerians.

“Anthony Joshua now joins a small cluster of men including Muhammad Ali, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson and Floyd Patterson to have reclaimed the world heavyweight title.

Anthony Joshua's persistence and resilience represent the typical can-do spirit of Nigerians in the face of adversity. He is a man who is proud to be a Nigerian doing his best in his calling to uplift the name of his fatherland,” it said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), congratulated Joshua over his victory.

Reacting to Joshua's victory, Dabiri-Erewa, in a statement by NIDCOM head of media and public relations, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, in Abuja on Sunday, December 8, said it is a testimony to the fact that Nigerians are great people.
