Independence Day: Venezuelan President Maduro congratulates Buhari, Nigerians

- President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian people on the celebration of the country’s 59th independence

- Maduro congratulated Buhari and people of Nigeria on all the achievements recorded by the country in the past 59 years and expressed gratitude for the support against President Trump's blockade

- The Venezuelan leader said Nigeria and his country share great historical relationships which would continue to be built on, for stronger bilateral ties

Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian people on the celebration of the country’s 59th independence.

Venezuela’s ambassador to Nigeria, David Caraballo, made this known in a message on Tuesday, October 1 in Abuja, NAN reports.

Legit.ng gathers that the ambassador stated that Maduro congratulated the president and people of Nigeria on all the achievements recorded by the country in the past 59 years.

Caraballo commended the government in its fight against terrorism and the Nigerian people for their resilience.

He also appreciated the Nigerian government, labour movements and solidarity groups for their support to Venezuela in the solidarity protest against Trump’s illegal economic blockade on Venezuela.

He said that Nigeria and Venezuela share great historical relationships which would continue to be built on, for stronger bilateral ties.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Google, the world's giant search engine, celebrated Nigeria with its special doodle as the country marks its 59th Independence Day.

The Google doodle is used to mark special occasions and individuals around the world.

The special logo, according to Wikipedia, has been in use since 1988 when it first honoured the long-running annual Burning Man event in Black Rock City, Nevada.
