EFCC arrests 2 suspected internet fraudsters, recover vehicle, laptops

- The EFCC carried out raids on different locations in Abuja

- The raids led to the arrest of suspected internet fraudsters and recovery of a vehicle and mobile phones

- The anti-graft agency said the raids were carried out following intelligence report from arrested suspected fraudsters

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested two suspected internet fraudsters in Abuja.

The anti-graft agency has intensified its raid on suspected internet fraudsters in the past few weeks in its effort to rid the country of financial crime.

According to the EFCC, the raid was carried out on Monday, September 16, at House 16 Yashin Dogara News Engineering, Dawaki, Abuja.

Another raid was also carried out at Nepa Road, Phase 4, Kubwa and at No 18 Samuel Crescent, Dantata Estate Kubwa, Abuja.

The agency said already arrested suspects provided them with information that led to the raids. The suspects arrested are Iloh Joseph and Emeka Jonathan.

Some of the items recovered include mobile phones, laptop computers, and a vehicle.

The commission said the suspects will be charged to court at the completion of investigation.

Meanwhile, Operatives of the EFCC arrested 11 suspected internet fraudsters in Sapele, Delta state.

The anti-graft agency said the operation was carried out in the early hours of Saturday, September 14, in their hideout in Sapele.

The EFCC said the operation was based on intelligence and that the suspected fraudsters were caught by surprise.
