Willian, Chelsea star, is reportedly closing in on a 2-year extension at Stamford Bridge-but Blues fans are unhappy with the development.

According to UK Sun citing Times, the Selecao midfielder is in the final 12 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge, but the Brazilian is still on vacation after representing his nation at the 2019 Copa America.

However, Chelsea fans has taken to the social media to blasts Willian, claiming he does not deserve an extension as he gets ready to work with new manager and former teammate Frank Lampard.

"He absolutely doesn’t deserve a 2 year deal. If Chelsea board is clever enough, they should make it a 1 year +1 year option to extend," one fan said, even as another stressed.

"Kill me" .

Meanwhile, other fans welcomed the idea, noting it will eliminate the fear of the forward leaving on a free next summer

"This makes sense in a transfer ban season and still allows us to sell him after this season is over,” a fan added.

Another stressed: "Good move I reckon, we need him to be around this season and we can sell him next season and still get money for him because he has a year left on his contract.

"Otherwise he’d walk for free next summer, we may as well protect the asset we have."

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard, has downplayed Willian’s claim that he has already been offered Eden Hazard’s iconic Chelsea No.10 squad number.

Hazard’s summer switch to Real Madrid has seen Chelsea hunt for a new No.10 from within the team's squad as the club cannot make any signings at the moment.

Willian has worn the No.22 shirt throughout his career with the Blues, but has not hid his desire to succeed the No.10 jersey from Hazard.
