Muslim lawmaker Omar alleges threat to life after President Trump's tweet
Minnesota lawmaker, Ilhan Omar, has described US President Donald Trump's tweet as a "violent rhetoric" capable of increasing death threat to her life.
Omar, who is one of the first ever Muslim members of the US Congress, made this declaration in a response to President Trump's tantrum after speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, announced a new "security assessment to safeguard" the lawmaker.
Legit.ng gathers that the US Muslim lawmaker also accused Trump of stoking right-wing extremism, a development she said was not presidential and benefiting of commander-of-chief.

Earlier, Trump had called the speaker of the House to call the Muslim congresswoman to order. The US president added that Omar was "out of control," after the lawmaker was shown talking to a US-Muslim group about the 9/11 attacks.
He also called on Speaker Pelosi to "look at the anti-Semitic, anti-Israel and ungrateful US HATE statements Omar has made" before defending her.
Reacting, the Omar, in a statement on Sunday, April 14, said: "Since the president's tweet on Friday evening, I have experienced an increase in direct threats on my life - many directly referring or replying to the president's video".
"Violent rhetoric and all forms of hate speech have no place in our society, much less from our country's Commander in Chief. We are all Americans. This is endangering lives. It has to stop.'"
Earlier, a man was charged with threatening to kill Omar over her Muslim faith. And prior to that time, her victory into the US congress in 2018 had sparked controversy with her recent 20-minute lecture to the Council on American-Islamic Relations drawing criticism to her from the presidency.

Meanwhile, Michael Cohen, the former lawyer to US President Donald Trump, said the president was a "racist, a con man and a cheat."
Legit.ng reported that Cohen made the comment as he testified before the US Congress on Wednesday, February 27.
