Alexandre Lacazette accused of diving in Arsenal's EPL win over Man United

Arsenal cruised to an impressive 2-0 win over Manchester United in Sunday's Premier League crunch clash at the Emirates Stadium.

A goal each from Granit Xhaka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang handed the Gunners maximum points with Alexandre Lacazette having a hand in both goals.

SunSport however reports that the Frenchman was accused of diving by the Red Devils fans after winning the penalty from a slight body contact with Fred.

The moment Lacazette fell to the ground, referee Jon Moss pointed straight to the spot mid-way through the second half.

Sunday's defeat meant Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Red Armies suffered their first Premier League defeat since his arrival in December.

Meanwhile, former England striker Gary Lineker believed the referee was wrong to give the penalty, saying: "Not a pen for me."

While several other fans echoed the ex-Tottenham forward's thoughts as Kurtweety wrote on Twitter: "Unbelievable dive from Lacazette."

TheReal_RKX added: "Lacazette is a diving cheat. That dive literally ended the game."

Lacazette's willingness to go to ground comes a week after Aubameyang won a soft spot-kick of his own after coming together with Tottenham's Davinson Sanchez.

Referencing the episode, Spurs fan Haaris said: "These man complain about Kane diving yet Aubameyang and Lacazette dive in consecutive games to win a penalty."

User The Man Utd Way summed up the frustrations of the visiting fans by stating: "A clear dive from Lacazette. Have to say, on second look, that is straight up embarrassing."

Legit.ng earlier reported that Arsenal hand Manchester United their first Premier League defeat since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solakjaer in December 2018.

Goals from Granit Xhaka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were all the Gunners needed to cruise to victory after regulation period.

The victory ensured the north Londoners overtake the Red Devils at the fourth position with two points better than the visitors.
