Breaking: President Buhari overwhelmingly defeats Atiku in Kano
President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has defeated Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the presidential election in Kano state conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
President Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 1,464,768 to defeat Atiku who polled a total of 391,593 votes.
Not less than 17 local government areas were affected by election cancellation. There were no incidence of violence in the state.

President Buhari overwhelmingly won all 44 local government areas in Kano state, thereby making him win in the state.
Based on the results from local government from the state so far, the president has won majority of the votes.

Kano is the strong base of the president, however, Atiku pulled a huge crowd during his campaign there some weeks ago as the Sani Abacha stadium venue was filled to the brim.
But at the end of collation of results by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in 10 local government areas, Buhari won them all.
