Oby Ezekwesili begins solo march to Presidential Villa over killings in Nigeria (photos)

A former minister education and the convener of the Bring Back Our Girls group, Obiageli Ezekwesili, has taken to the streets of Abuja on a solo march over the killings across various states in Nigeria.
Dressed in a symbolic red attire, Ezekwesili carried a banner with a inscription; Help!, #EndTheBloodFlow, #EndThe Killings, #WeWantJustice marched to the gates of the Presidential Villa.
The Bring Back Our Girls group in a statement on Monday, June 25, had said that the former minister would embark on the solo march on Tuesday, June 26, at 11.30 am.

The group in its statement said the march is fully endorsed and supported by the BBOG as the issue is part of the things it has been advocating about for the past four years.
The statement said Ezekwesili's solo march is aimed at making demands of accountability on the killings and ceaseless flow of blood in the country from the State House, "and most especially the cavalier approach of the Muhammadu Buhari administration."
Speaking during the march, Ezekwesili called on President Muhamamdu Buhari to take immediate actions to end the killings across various states in Nigeria.

Ezekwesili state: "President Muhammadu Buhari, having watched with consternation the criminal massacre of our fellow Nigerians especially in the first half of this year without any evidence of fierce sense of urgency on the part of your government to end the abnormality, I have a simple question for you today.
"Are you by any strange possibility in need of the spilt blood of your citizens? I personally reckon that the answer to this outlandish question which some of your citizens are now asking in utter frustration is NO.
"If therefore your own response is NO as I direly hope it is, I have a few DEMAND to make on you to STOP THE KILLINGS NOW!
"I am addressing my message to you as the President and C-in-C of Nigeria. I am addressing my DEMANDS to you as that one individual bestowed with the powers of centralized command and control of our security institutions and personnel to enforce the provisions of Section 14 subsection 2b of the Nigerian Constitution (As amended) which states that, “the welfare and security of the citizens shall be the primary purpose of the government."
She further called on the president to stop normalising the endless flow of blood across Nigeria and share credible strategy and solutions of the Buhari-led administration to the daily killings.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Ezekwesili had asked President Buhari to address the killings constantly reoccurring across the country.
Ezekwesili, in a series of messages posted on her Twitter account on Monday, June 25, asked the president to account for the dead in Plateau state.
She said a president who loves his people would not watch, doing nothing while his people are being killed, even as she urged the various security agencies to find solutions and safeguard the citizens.
