My life is in danger for not supporting Wike's 2019 reelection bid - Arewa leader

- A leader of of northern community in south-south, Alhaji Musa Saidu, has alleged that his life is in danger

- He said that some people were threatening to kill him for not supporting Governor Wike of Rivers state

- Saidu said he had petitioned IGP and other security agencies to come to his rescue

A leader of the northern community in south-south and south-east, Alhaji Musa Saidu, has alleged that a prominent cabinet member of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state threatened to kill him for not supporting the governor’s re-election 2019 bid.

Daily Trust reports that Saidu in a petition written by his lawyer, Eze Kpanuku and addressed to the office of Inspector General of Police, Director General of DSS, the Presidency and the office of National Security Adviser (NSA), said the cabinet member had invited him and one Alhaji Jabi Mohammed to his office for a meeting.

Legit.ng gathered that he said before he arrived the secretariat the commissioner had gathered some thugs who were with him at the VIP car park of the secretariat.

“He brought out a newspaper publication and asked why did I say nobody should vote for the governor? I told him that I did not say such thing,” Saidu said, alleging that because the commissioner was not satisfied, he asked a policeman with him to kill him, but that the policeman instead shielded him from the thugs who charged at him.

He said the police officer escorted him to his car and asked him to drive off from the scene, but that the incident had instilled fear in him.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lost some of its members to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Omoku, hometown of the Rivers state chairman of the PDP, Chief Felix Obuah.

While receiving the defectors on Saturday, March 3 at Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, ONELGA (Omoku) local government area, an APC chieftain, Professor Henry Arinze Ugboma, assured them that the APC would produce the governor in 2019.
