A leader of the northern community in south-south and south-east, Alhaji Musa Saidu, has alleged that a prominent cabinet member of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state threatened to kill him for not supporting the governor’s re-election 2019 bid.
Daily Trust reports that Saidu in a petition written by his lawyer, Eze Kpanuku and addressed to the office of Inspector General of Police, Director General of DSS, the Presidency and the office of National Security Adviser (NSA), said the cabinet member had invited him and one Alhaji Jabi Mohammed to his office for a meeting.
Legit.ng gathered that he said before he arrived the secretariat the commissioner had gathered some thugs who were with him at the VIP car park of the secretariat.
“He brought out a newspaper publication and asked why did I say nobody should vote for the governor? I told him that I did not say such thing,” Saidu said, alleging that because the commissioner was not satisfied, he asked a policeman with him to kill him, but that the policeman instead shielded him from the thugs who charged at him.
He said the police officer escorted him to his car and asked him to drive off from the scene, but that the incident had instilled fear in him.
