Legit.ng earlier reported that sources said the IGP had ordered the arrest of Babangida's aide.

Idris was said to have ordered the arrest of the media adviser to Babangida, Kassim Afegbua, within 24 hours.

The IGP'S order is said to be connected to the controversial statement released by Afegbua which quoted Babangida saying Nigerians should vote out Buhari in 2019.

However, Afegbua, has absolved himself of any wrongdoing, after being declared wanted by the police.

He stated that he was prepared to fight his case in court; however, he stated that he would turn himself in to the authorities by Wednesday, February 7.
