Breaking: Obasanjo, Oyinlola, others storm Abeokuta to inaugurate Coalition for Nigeria Movement

Nigeria's former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, stormed the Ogun state Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Oke Ilewo area of Abeokuta, to inaugurate his much-touted Coalition for Nigeria Movement, The Punch reports.

Legit.ng gathered that Obasanjo arrived at 12.44 pm and was accompanied by former governors of Cross River and Osun states, Donald Duke and Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

Obasanjo later filled his form as a member of the coalition and submitted it to the national coordinator, Oyinlola.

In a previous report by Legit.ng, barely two weeks after the former president dismissed the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and advocated for the formation of Coalition for Nigeria Movement, a movement was on Wednesday, January 31, launched at the Shehu Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.

The coalition was quick to dismiss insinuation that it was rolling out Obasanjo’s script, adding that it is an independent movement aimed at moving Nigeria forward.

Governors Olagunsoye Oyinlola of Osun state and Donald Duke of Cross-River state were among many notable politicians and youth leaders from across Nigeria who came together to launch a new movement.
