Donald Trump releases ‘Fake News’ awards

- The highly anticipated ‘Fake News’ awards has been released by US President Donald Trump

- A number of media organizations were caught in the crosshairs of the US president, including New York Times, CNN, TIME and ABC News

- Trump however insisted that despite what he called ‘dishonest media coverage’, there were ‘many great reporters’

US President Donald Trump has finally announced the winners of his so-called ‘Fake News’ awards, UK Independent reports.

Topping the list was the New York Times whose columnist had been singled out by Trump for claiming that the US economy would fail under the 45th president; a claim which has so far not turned out to be true.

Legit.ng gathers however, that the website where the ‘awards’ were posted by the US president crashed shortly after he tweeted the link. It however, returned afterwards.

Trump also attacked an ABC News reporter, Brian Ross, for erroneously reporting that during the 2016 election, the president directed former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, to make contact with Russia.

The US president also took aim at TIME magazine for claiming a bust of the late great civil rights leader, Martin Luther King, was removed from the Oval Office.

CNN was not left out, as Trump also highlighted a number of the foremost news organizations’ reports.

Trump however insisted that there was ‘good news’ for the American people, and stated that there were ‘many great reporters’, despite what he called ‘dishonest media coverage'.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that President Donald Trump on Tuesday, January 16, said he wanted immigrants from around the world.

“I want them to come in from everywhere,” he told reporters at the White House during an appearance with visiting President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan.

The president had been on the receiving end of global outcry when it was alleged that he called African countries ‘shithole’ during an immigration policy meeting.
