Ikeja Electric Plc lists areas of Lagos to experience one week black-out
- The Ikeja Electric Plc has informed residents of certain parts of Lagos that there would be a one week black-out between November 3 and 10
- The company would be undergoing a complete rehabilitation of broken down power structures during the stipulated period of time
- The affected areas include Mende, Ikeja GRA, Anthony and others; and residents of the affected locales have been urged to please bear with the power company
Residents of certain areas of Lagos state have been put on notice by the Ikeja Electric Plc, about a one week interruption of power supply.
According to reports, the development was made public by Felix Ofolue, the company’s head of corporate communications, on Wednesday, November 1.

Legit.ng gathers that Ofolue disclosed that the black-out is set to occur between November 3 and 10.
The following areas will be affected:
1. Mende
2. Anthony
3. Maryland
4. Ikeja GRA
5. Shonibare Estate
6. Parts of Ojota, Ketu, Ikosi, Demurin and environs
Ofolue disclosed that a complete rehabilitation of the Maryland Injection Substation, which would involve the replacement of obsolete switch gear panels at the switch room, would be undertaken by the company during the 7-day period.
He pleaded with the residents of the affected locales to bear with the company, as power would be restored immediately afterwards.
Ofolue also stated that various communication channels would be set up to keep residents informed of developments; and that all repairs would be completed within the stipulated time frame.
In his words: “Power supply will be restored immediately after the completion of the exercise.
“We solicit the understanding and cooperation of all our consumers that would be affected by this outage."

Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that the management of Ikeja Electric Plc announced a planned one-month interruption in power supply to some areas within its network to enable maintenance work.
Felix Ofulue, the company’s spokesman, told newsmen that the interruption would take place in order to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) carry out routine work on the Ikeja West Transmission Station.
