Nigerian international Victor Boniface has reacted as Tolu Arokodare grabbed the all-important goal against Rwanda in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The Super Eagles secured maximum three points at the Godwill Akpabio International Stadium to remain in contention for the ticket to the Mundial.
It was a do-or-die clash on Saturday, September 6, and the Super Eagles failed to convert their chances in the first half.

They suffered a huge blow late in the first stanza when Victor Osimhen was forced off injured in the 35th minute, with Cyriel Dessers coming on as a substitute.

At the start of the second half, a desperate Eric Chelle introduced Tolu Arokodare for Frank Onyeka, a move that would soon pay off.
It took just five minutes before the 24-year-old capitalised on a goalmouth scramble to hand the three-time African champions all three points.
The victory took Nigeria to third in the CAF qualification Group C, where they remain in a tight race for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification.
In his reaction, Boniface, who has made 13 international appearances without a goal, took to social media to hail the goal scorer.
The Werder Bremen star reshared a post dedicated to Wolverhampton Wanderers forward, with a simple caption, “Na so my guy.”
It was Arokodare's second goal for the national team, having opened his account against Russia at the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow, in June.
Nigeria travel to South Africa, where they will take on table-toppers Bafana Bafana on Tuesday, September 9.
Bafana Bafana are top of the group with 16 points, and a victory over Nigeria will put them one step closer to the global showpiece, Soccernet reports.
The Super Eagles are aware that anything short of all three points against South Africa will see them bid goodbye to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Should they lose at the Free State Stadium, then the best they would be able to hope for is a second-placed finish and a potential play-off spot.

Recall that Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2022 edition of the global showpiece in Qatar, having lost to Ghana in the final round of qualification.
Chelle provides Osimhen injury update
Legit.ng earlier reported that Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has admitted the situation with Osimhen was worrying, but called for patience.
Speaking to reporters after the game, the tactician disclosed that Osimhen’s ankle would be assessed by medical staff before the game against South Africa. He said:
“I can’t say much about Victor for now. He has pain in his ankle. We will see how he feels tomorrow. I will also discuss with the doctors to know if he will be ready for the next game.”
