Super Eagles Stars Send Messages to Nigerians Ahead of 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

Super Eagles players have sent a message to Nigerians ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier matches against Rwanda and South Africa.
Nigeria will face the Amavubi at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, before facing Bafana Bafana at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.

A win in both matches is crucial for Nigeria’s hopes of qualifying, and anything other than the maximum six points could spell the end for the chances of qualifying.
As confirmed by the NFF, all 23 invited players have arrived in camp, including first-time goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, who suffered an injury scare at Chippa United.
Super Eagles stars send message to Nigerians
Eric Chelle oversaw the second training session with a full house on Wednesday, after the first session with those who arrived early on Tuesday evening.
As seen in a video shared on X by Super Eagles, Alex Iwobi, Bright Osayi-Samuel sent messages to Nigerians as preparations intensify in camp.
“Our message would be to continue supporting us, as players we believe, so if you guys can believe in us as well and give us the energy that we need to go and get the results that we want to do, to achieve to go to the World Cup,” Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi said.
“The mood is good and everyone is good and feeling optimistic, we're excited to play our first game against Rwanda. Hopefully, we can prepare well, and like I said, get the result we want.”
Birmingham defender, who started both matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe in March, affirms that the team will win both matches to keep their qualification hopes alive.
“It is a very important game, possibly one of our most important games in the national team. We know how difficult it can be, but I have full belief in our squad and our coach, and I ultimately believe we'll go out there and win,” he said.

Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina rallied Nigerians to support the team as they prepare for the challenge.
“Our message to Nigerians is that we know it's a tough task ahead of us, but we're ready for the challenge and we're looking forward to it,” he said.
“At the end of the day, it's another two games of football, and we're gonna try our best as we're looking forward to it. Keep believing in us and supporting us.’
Injury hit South Africa’s camp
Legit.ng reported that injury hit South Africa's camp as key players withdrew, including Nigerian defender Ime Okon and Orlando Pirates forward Patrick Maswanganyi.
