Norwich City have made an immediate return to the English topflight division with five games to spare in the Championships, Sky Sports.

The Carrow Road outfit confirmed their status as next season contingents in the Premier League after Brentford and Swansea City failed to win their respective matches.

Thomas Frank's Brentford were held to a scoreless draw at home by Millwall while the Swans had to fight from two goals down to draw relegation-threatened Wycombe.

The Canneries are now the first team since 2017 to secure an immediate return to the Premier League after Newcastle.

Having won the Championship two seasons ago Norwich boss Daniel Farke's mission was to return the team back into the elite division.

The likes of Todd Cantwell, Teemu Pukki and Emi Buendia were persuaded to help the club regain their status in the Premier League which worked out as planned.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Nigerian defender, William Troost-Ekong has completed a five-year move to English Championship side Watford this window.

The Hornets completed announced the arrival of the 27-year-old on their official website, revealing that he will don jersey number five this season.

He became the latest to join coach Vladimir Ivic’s squad as they hope to fight their way back to the Premier League next term. The club said in a statement on their official website.

Legit.ng had also reported that William Troost-Ekong who is a Nigerian defender has stated clearly that he and his Super Eagles teammates are ready for their encounter against Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

The Nigeria national team, three-time African champions, will face visiting Lesotho in their last group game in the 2022 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Tuesday evening, March 30.

Gernot Rohr and his men will be going into this duel against Lesotho with boosted morale having already qualified for next year's African Cup of Nations which will hold in Cameroon.
