England equalized through the tournament's top scorer Gary Lineker before Maradona scored what is still regarded as the best individual goal of all time after beating six players including the goalkeeper.

Argentina went on to win their second World Cup after defeating West Germany by 3-2 in the finals.

Maradona was asked what he wants when he finally clocks 60 and he told France Football:

“I dream of being able to score another goal against England, this time with the right hand!”

The Napoli icon recalled the incident last year which is still fresh in the memory of England fans and admitted he used his hand.

“It wasn’t my plan but the action happened so fast that the linesman didn’t see me putting my hand in. The referee looked at me and he said, 'Goal.’
“It was a nice feeling like some sort of symbolic revenge against the English.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Maradona has admitted that Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Mercy are still the best footballers in history, adding that the Argentine, as well as the Portuguese, are the best footballers of the modern era.

According to the icon, no player in the modern era will match half of what both players have achieved in the game of football.

Maradona himself is famous for being one of the greatest football players ever. He had a breathtaking career, winning a huge number of trophies with Napoli and Barcelona as well as a starring role in Argentina’s 1986 World Cup triumph in Mexico.
