Real Madrid vs Club Brugge ended in a 2-2 draw in an entertaining Champions League fixture played at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Nigerian striker Emmanuel Bonaventure scored two goals for the Belgian side as Sergio Ramos and Casemiro rescued Real.

The visitors surprisingly took the lead after South African striker Percy Tau beat the offside trap and set up Nigerian star Bonaventure, whose misjudged first touch still went past Thibaut Courtois.

The goal was initially ruled out for an offside but after a long look at the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), both African stars in the build up to the goal were on side and it was given 1-0 to Brugge.

Madrid pressed with high intensity as they pushed forward in search for an equalizer. But ex-Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet made an acrobatic save to deny Raphael Varane's header from a corner kick in the 27th minute.

Tau also saw his right-foot shot saved by Courtois after making an intelligent run into the box to meet a pass from Senegalese Krepin Diatta.

It was an action packed first half as Tonis Kroos' 35th minute shot also went agonizingly wide from an Eden Hazard's assist.

Things went from bad to worse for Real as Bonaventure capitalized on a mistake from Luka Modric as he ran into the box and scooped the ball past Courtois to make it 2-0 five minutes before half time.

Kroos for the second time in the first half had his side-footed shot sail wide as Zidane's men went into the break with their tails between their legs.

A double change was immediately made before the second half kick off as Alphonse Areola and Marcelo came in for Courtois and Nacho Fernandez.

Hazard who is yet to score a goal since making a big summer move from Chelsea flashed a shot as Mignolet made a smart save three minutes after the restart.

Ramos needlessly gave the ball away as Bonaventure pounced on the mistake again. He rounded Varane but his sliding shot was brilliantly saved by Areola.

Ramos put Los Blancos back into the game in the 55th minute as he headed home a Karim Benzema's cross in what seemed like the captain was in an offside position, but VAR gave the goal after confirmation. 2-1 it was.

Brugge captain Ruud Vormer was sent off after clipping the heels of Vinicius Junior in the 84th minute as the Belgian side had to defend their lead with few minutes to the end of the match.

But the resulting free kick proved costly as Casemiro made it 2-2 with a powerful header from a Kroos' assist.

It was a grand-stand finish as Madrid went in search for the winner with five minutes plus added time left to play. But it ended 2-2 at the Bernabeu as Brugge take home a priceless point at the Bernabeu.
