Anambra Election: Ozigbo Best, Most Qualified Governorship Candidate, Says Peter Obi

Awka, Anambra state - A former governor of Anambra state and the vice president aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi, has described Valentine Ozigbo, the party's governorship candidate in the forthcoming Anambra election as the most qualified.

Vanguard reports that Obi said described Ozigbo as the best candidate vying for the number one seat in the state.

Speaking at a meeting with the Coalition of Non-Anambra Indigenes living in the state, Obi said Ozigbo will revive the dilapidated roads and other infrastructures in the state.

He said industries like the health and education sectors would not be left out should Ozigbo becomes the governor of Anambra state.

PM News reports that Obi made the statement while the members of Anambra non-Indigenes in the state adopted and endorsed the candidature of Ozigbo ahead of the November election in the state.

The event took place in Awka, the state's capital city.

The former governor said Nigeria is a nation that works for everybody irrespective of where they are from.

He said a nation with good healthcare, education and security for all is what every Nigerian deserves and nothing more.

Obi said:

“What is happening anywhere should be of interest to others elsewhere, there is no separate good society for indigenes and non-indigenes,” he said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that some unidentified gunmen attacked the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Charles Soludo.

During the attack which happened in Isuofia, Aguata local government area of Anambra state, the state commissioner for public utilities, Emeka Ezenwanne was abducted.

It was gathered that Soludo was having a meeting with some youths in his community when the gunmen stormed the location.

In other news, the executive officer of Bigly Oil and Gas, Chimezie Nwankwo has pledged to support the victims of the fire outbreak at the Nkwo Ogbe market in Anambra state financially.

Nwankwo popularly referred to as AbigyNwankwo pledged the sum of N5 million to the traders who lost goods worth millions of naira to the fire incident.

He also urged other sons and daughters of the state who can afford to help the traders revive their business to do so.
