Dufil Prima Foods Supports 200 Nigerians Living with Sickle Cell Disorder

Dufil Prima Foods Limited, makers of Indomie, has provided essential medication to more than 200 Nigerians living with Sickle Cell Disorder, easing the cost of ongoing care for beneficiaries and their families.

The intervention, delivered under the “Hope Begins with Care” initiative, provides beneficiaries with a three-month supply of essential medication and forms part of Dufil’s 10-year partnership with the Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria (SCFN).

For families managing the condition, the cost of regular medication can add significant pressure to already demanding care routines. Efua Edeh, Programme and Grants Consultant, SCFN, said the support would provide much-needed financial relief, allowing beneficiaries to redirect resources towards essentials such as school fees, rent, nutrition and clothing.

Temitope Ashiwaju, Group Corporate Communications and Events Manager, Dufil Prima Foods, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to easing the challenges associated with Sickle Cell Disorder, while highlighting the need for greater public awareness, particularly around genotype compatibility and informed decisions on marriage.

For 16-year-old Farida Adedeji, who was diagnosed at age two, the intervention is both timely and impactful, providing relief to patients and families navigating the cost of long-term care.

The latest intervention builds on Dufil’s decade-long support for sickle cell care, awareness, and advocacy, reinforcing its commitment to practical health interventions that improve the well-being of vulnerable Nigerians.
