Crisis Erupts in Family as Cousin Marries Sister’s Ex-Boyfriend, Causing Misunderstandings

A Nigerian man sparked controversy after revealing that his cousin had married his sister’s boyfriend.
He explained that his sister had once come home complaining about the relationship and decided to end it.

He added that his cousin, a lady, was also present while his sister vented her frustration, and just some time later, the cousin ended up marrying the said boyfriend.
The man, @Marknit0 shared the story in response to a similar story shared on the popular social media platform, X, formerly Twitter.
He stated that the incident happened a long time ago. At the time, he didn’t quite understand the implications of what his cousin did, as he had only heard of such stories in movies, but experiencing it in his family left him surprised.
He said:
"Lmao, it reminds me of how my sister was fighting with her then-boyfriend, and she came back one day and was gisting us on how she's done with the relationship.
"Our cousin (she's a year older than my sister), who visited for the holidays, was part of the gist too. Long story short, my cousin married him. They're with four kids now, I think.
"This happened sometime in 2010 or so, I didn't know the detriment of what my cousin had done at the time, I was just in awe cause I only heard/saw this type of situation on Nollywood.
"It was so crazy, cause they (my cousin and her mom) had the guts to invite us for the Traditional marriage, which we ignored, but my dad had to go cause of some traditional rights… ohh for context she's the cousin from my dad’s FAMILY."

He spoke further about the event, revealing that despite what happened, the family of his cousin didn’t see anything wrong in what happened. According to him, they went ahead to invite his father and other family members to the wedding.
"Waking up to seeing silly comments, talking about 'why is your sister pressed' my sister wasn’t mad at all, she only felt betrayed cause she and my cousin were very close then (oh and my cousin and sister looked very much alike, even more than her twin ), so she told my cousin almost everything.
"The only person who was raving mad about the whole situation was my other sister, her twin (my sisters are twins btw, non-identical) she wanted to throw hands so bad, but my mom tried to calm her down… me I was just there looking at everyone like '👀"
"And more so, both my sisters are married atm, with Kids (3 kids and other 1) so they all GOOD! Even my cousin sister, she is good too, with her kids, everyone is doing just fine. Just putting all this out here cause I know y'all like to use every situation as a ‘gotcha moment’ no be for here."
He revealed the reason he made the revelation while sharing other details:
"Is your sister on talking terms with your cousin now? Yes, actually my family stopped caring after a while.. My mum was the one who did my cousin’s ‘Omugwo’ from the day she left the hospital, till her mom arrived a week later.
"My cousin usually visits us with her kids and the HUSBAND (crazy) we attend the same church literally and sometimes my mom would even babysit my cousin's kids, if there's anyone still mad at the situation it's ME! cause ain't no way you're getting away with that in my book."

DNA test reveals man married cousin
