Ibom Air: Comfort Emmanson Debunks Report of Suing FG, NCAA, others for N500bn, Shares Her Plan

The recently freed Ibom Air passenger, Comfort Emmanson, has denied the report that she filed a N500 billion lawsuit against the federal government, the NCAA, and others over the airport incident, which has continued to be the talk of social media.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Barrister Ayomide Ademiluyi, a public interest lawyer, had dragged the federal government, aviation minister Festus Keyamo, and others to court in a N500 billion suit over the handling of the separate airport incidents involving fuji musician K1 De Ultimate and Comfort.

N500 billion lawsuit: What Comfort Emmanson said

Some media outlets reported the lawsuit as being filed by Comfort, but in a recent post on her Instagram story on Saturday, August 16, the Nigerian lady described the report as fake and misleading.

Comfort clarified that she has not taken any legal action yet against the above-mentioned parties.

Still in the same Instagram post, Comfort noted that when she eventually approaches the court over the incident, which she said is imminent, she will update the public herself via her official page.

She further said that her lawyer is Barrister Adam Atakpa of Kippraise Attorneys. She urged the public to disregard the N500 billion report.

Her Instagram story post read:

"My attention has been drawn to a fake report claiming that I have filed a N500 billion lawsuit against the Federal Government, NCAA, and others.

"This information is false and misleading. I have not taken any such legal action yet.
"When I eventually do anything of such nature (which is imminent) I will personally update the public myself via my official page.
"For the avoidance of doubt my lawyer is Adam Atakpa of Kippraise Attorneys.
"I urge everyone to disregard this fake news and avoid being misled."

In a related story, Legit.ng reported that one of the lawyers who represented Comfort Emmanson in court had described how she looked when she was brought out from detention.

Lawyer's observation about Comfort Emmanson's remand warrant

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported what an observant barrister noticed after closely looking at the remand warrant used for Comfort Emmanson.

While sharing a copy of the remand warrant on Facebook, the lawyer, who found procedural irregularities in it, accused the Nigerian Correctional Service of collusion and abuse of process.

She further said that the accused Ibom Air passenger was hurriedly charged to court and remanded using a warrant with a chronological impossibility. This is because it was stated on the warrant that Comfort was remanded on October 11 and is to be produced for arraignment on October 6, 2025.
