A South African man identified as Fanie De Waal has shared an inspiring story of how he bagged his first degree at the age of 60.

He attended the prestigious University of South Africa, Pretoria where he studied Business Management.

"Completed my Honours Degree at 60."

Friends and well-wishers congratulated him on his success and equally agreed that no time is too late for one to achieve anything.

One friend, Gerald Ramdsen congratulated Mr Dewaal and also revealed that he got his Masters Degree at the age of 59. He wrote:

Congrats Fanie. Now for your Master. I completed my Masters this year at the age of 59 and on to my Doctorate next year. Never too old to study!

Another friend commented:

"Once you are determined to get anything - you will regardless of your state of affairs."

Another follow said he was 40-years-old but that he considers himself too old to go to school. He said:

"Hahaha, I'm 44 but I feel too old to start my masters but your comment makes me think again."

He tweeted:
