The suspects, identified as 64-year-old Victor Nwosa and 49-year-old Felix Chika Obiegbu, were picked up in separate raids. Nwosa, who posed as a textile merchant, was arrested on September 17 at his residence on Femi Kila Street, Okota.
A search of the property yielded 4.33 kilograms of heroin and 448 grams of cocaine. Obiegbu, known in his neighbourhood as a wine distributor, was taken into custody on September 11 at his home on Shada Shonefun Street, Aguda Surulere where officers recovered 2.9 kilograms of methamphetamine.
The agency also intercepted several other drug shipments across the country during the same week. In Borno State, operatives acting on intelligence stopped a Mercedes Benz GLK at Njimtilo village and discovered 39,380 pills of tramadol 225mg and exol-5 hidden inside the engine compartment.
The driver, 26-year-old Baba Kaka Ibrahim, was arrested while attempting to drive toward Damaturu. In Yobe State, officers along the Damaturu-Maiduguri road found 39 parcels of Colorado, a potent strain of cannabis, weighing 1.4 kilograms inside a woman’s travelling bag.

The suspect, Halima Adamu, was detained and a follow-up operation led to the arrest of another woman, Habiba Muhammad, in Maiduguri.
Further arrests were recorded in Kano where two men were caught with 30,030 pills of tramadol, in Bayelsa where three suspects were found with 12 kilograms of skunk and 50 cartridges, and in Ekiti where a 45-year-old ex-convict was discovered with 32 kilograms of skunk and tramadol.
In Kaduna, officers seized 262.6 kilograms of skunk from a Honda Pilot jeep and also recovered 506 grams of methamphetamine during a separate checkpoint search that led to another arrest in Gombe.
Nationwide raids target drug cartels and farms
Operations in Edo State resulted in the destruction of over 24,000 kilograms of cannabis on more than nine hectares of farmland. Officers also intercepted a truck carrying 82 bags of skunk weighing 1,025 kilograms concealed in charcoal sacks.
Similar seizures were reported in Lagos, Abuja and other states, with thousands of pills of tramadol and several kilograms of Colorado taken off the streets.
NDLEA Chairman Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retired) commended the officers involved in the nationwide operations.
He said every gram of drugs removed from circulation strengthens national security and protects Nigerian youths from the dangers of illicit substances.
