The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) nomination list for 2026 has continued to make waves on social media, with Iyabo Ojo also reacting to her recognition by the organisers.
Recall that on Sunday, March 29, 2026, the AMVCA released the full list of nominees for this year's edition as fans anticipate their favourite celebrities who would finally clinch awards in different categories.

Iyabo Ojo was one of the Nollywood stars whose movie project Labake Olododo, released in 2025, was recognised, earning spots in two categories for Best Indigenous Language West Africa and Best Makeup.

Reacting, Iyabo expressed appreciation on behalf of her and her crew while describing the nomination as a win for her and her co-nominees.
"Thank you, AMVCA, @africamagic for the 2 nominations for ..... Labake Olododo Categories...... 1. Best Indigenous Language West Africa 2. Best Makeup On behalf of my entire team and my humble self we're grateful. Kudos to all my co-nominees. This is a win for all of us," she wrote.
In related news, Legit.ng reported that Funke Akindele's Behind The Scenes and Toyin Abraham's Oversabi Aunty also earned nominations in the same category.
The 2026 Awards ceremony, set to take place in May in Lagos, features 32 award categories in total, with 18 to be decided by a jury and 11 open to public voting.

While celebrating the moment, Kunle Remi also took a swipe at the organisers of the AMVCA.
In his post, the actor highlighted how winners at the Oscars receive their awards immediately with their names engraved on them, something he suggested was different from how awards were handled in Nollywood.
